LOVE IS SCIENTIFIC

Dear friends:

Since the pandemic lockdown and the release of my first album The Writing on the Wall in 2020, I have continued to write and record music. The overarching theme of this next phase of my musical endeavor is guided by what I term the Laws of Because: Karma, Chaos, Will & Grace. If consciousness is a fundamental reality along with space and time, as is perfectly clear to me, then Karma, Chaos, Will & Grace are four possible underlying explanations for why things happen as they do. Karma mirrors Newton’s law of action and reaction, Chaos embodies the unpredictability of life’s complexities, Will represents the driving force of desire and action, while Grace happens when we give in to simply going with the flow of our universe—as in meditation. This is life. This brings meaning.

Originally conceived to be a single album, inspiration took flight and the result was two albums of material (CD package and/or digital format) which form a cohesive whole. Karma, Chaos, Will & Grace – Volume Two: Mostly Grace contains 12 musical explorations of these four principles. Like my previous album, the styles are eclectic and experimental, including instrumental pieces and stories of love, loss and memory, of hope, uncertainty and despair. And calls to action. Come together everybody. We can do this.

In contemplating the fundamental role of consciousness in our reality, I envision a world where compassion is recognized as the lubricant and the glue for our ego-fragmented multiverse. Through music, I seek to convey the transformative power of love, envisioning a world where numerical evaluations and equations may one day quantify its healing influence. Love, in its essence, is scientific—a universal truth waiting to be fully understood.

As with the last album, I have been blessed to create with the Jack-of-all-trades and master-of-all-trades, both artistic and technical, Randall Michael Tobin.

Thanks.

Steve
